First TransPennine Express run on popular train routes in the north of England and Scotland, including large university cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

If students already have a young persons railcard, then TransPennine Express will take and additional discount of up to 50% off the student rail ticket - but only if booked through the Trans Pennine Express student website.

There is no NUS or NUS Extra student discount with TransPennine Express - students must present the 16-25 railcard in order to obtain the extra student discount.
